Thursday Feb 20, 2020
Thursday Feb 20, 2020
Julie Piatt, also known as Sri-Mati, joins us today. Julie is an artist, chef, author, musician, yogi, healer, and spiritual guide. She has created over 300 plant-based recipes and is the author of a series of best-selling cookbooks: This Cheese is Nuts, The Plantpower Way, and The Plantpower Way: Italia.
Recently Julie launched her Do Life-Not Cheese line SriMu
Furthermore, she hosts the podcast For the Life of Me which explores our Divine existence. She has created Water Tiger, a community where she shares monthly healing techniques and gives her guidance on your personal journey to self-realization. Water Tiger allows you to fall in love with yourself on your own solo journey.
Julie shares how she began her journey to where she is now many years ago. She talks about the importance of cultivating love for yourself before you are able to properly give that love to others. Lots of us think we have good spiritual ideals, but until we have really met ourselves, we don’t have that capacity to help one another.
We all experience hardship on our journeys. Julie sees these hardships as Sacred Moments, and whether it be a death, illness, financial trouble, or anything in between, Julie shares how important these moments are in realizing who you are and what your journey is. There is no one way to enlightenment.

Annie Carpenter on Life & Yoga !
Wednesday Feb 05, 2020
Wednesday Feb 05, 2020
Today’s guest is Annie Carpenter. She is a pioneer in the yoga world and was also a professional dancer. She is a mentor and teacher to Nathalie along with many other teachers around the world. Annie is known to be the teacher of teachers.
Annie shines some light on her background, telling us that going to a rehabilitation center after falling into recreational drugs ignited her passion for yoga. She describes that while working as a professional dancer in New York City, yoga was her way to relax; she wouldn’t have been able to work without it. Annie was a student of the late Martha Graham and danced for her internationally acclaimed company.
Nathalie feels that the importance of the yoga teacher is becoming lost as yoga evolves. Annie believes that it’s difficult to have perspective on self, no matter what we are doing. We then hear about Annie’s teaching style.
Annie has been with her partner for fifteen years and talks about why she thinks her relationship has worked. She says that a big piece of it is supporting each other’s passion.

Get Clear & Take Action with John Joseph
Wednesday Jan 08, 2020
Wednesday Jan 08, 2020
Today’s guest is John Joseph. He is the lead singer of Cro-Mags and Bloodclot, as well as the author of three books: The Evolution of a Cro-Magnon, Meat Is for Pussies, and The PMA Effect. He is a triathlete, leader in the plant-based movement, and long-time yogi.
John describes his rough upbringing in New York City, which involved drugs, fighting, and getting shot. The judicial system eventually offered him to either go to jail or to the Navy. He chose the Navy and he tells us that this really caused his life to begin its change.
Rastafarians taught John that when you eat an animal, you are ingesting every second of that animal’s pain. There are so many options today; eating animals is unnecessary. John instills that in yoga, you must do what the shastra says. We don’t change the shastra to suit our lifestyle, we change our lifestyle because it’s what the shastra tells us to do.
Though your path may not be the same on John’s, he believes that they can both be paths of goodness that help the world. We finish by hearing what John is working on for 2020.

Awaken Change Energy Healing with Lillian Savoie
Monday Dec 09, 2019
Monday Dec 09, 2019
Lillian Savoie is an intuitive reading reiki healer who also does guided meditations and courses.
She joins us in this episode and says that her main role is to help people connect with their spirits in order to find their passion in life.
We have the power within ourselves to be our own healers. Still, Lillian says that this skill needs to be practiced regularly. She explains why many people are scared to begin energy healing and tells us that there is nothing to be afraid of. Energy healing gives us the ability to shift our moods, health, relationships, and more.
If we’re a spirit operating in a human body, then we need to support our spirit first. Lillian speaks to the need for a support system before giving us an example of the work that she does with angels.
This is a time of year when many people get some form of temporary sickness, and Lillian believes that this is a good thing. It is a purging of energy and is your body’s way of healing in the long-term. Your body is trying to teach you something by being sick, and Lillian shares her insight on these lessons.

Tuesday Nov 19, 2019
Today we have an amazing guest in Patrick Sanderson who is a filmmaker, actor, and model, who lives in Los Angeles.
Having also spent a significant amount of time living in LA, Nathalie talks about how fun it was; she and Patrick haven’t experienced the typical negativity sometimes tied to the city.
This episode explores tools for navigation changes, as well as remaining authentic throughout your journey no matter what.
We talk about his new short film Unintentional Community, the experience of going through film school and participating in film festivals around the country and London.

Patrick talks about a humbling experience that has contributed to this positive mindset that is very inspiring. This event allowed Patrick to see clearly and reset his life.
We discuss the amazingness of road trips and how he originally drove to California from Louisiana over three days with his dog and cat.

Tea, Nature & Ceremonies with Colin Hudon
Friday Nov 08, 2019
Friday Nov 08, 2019
Joining us in this episode is Colin Hudon, the founder of Living Tea. Nathalie has a deep love for tea practice and meditation with tea, and Living Tea is where she gets most of her teas from. In this episode, we’ll explore tea ceremonies, mindful living, nature, meditation, different types of teas, subtle body energies, and how you can start your own tea practice.
Tea as a way of life and tradition is something that is usually not understood in the West, and it is just beginning to make its way into the Western consciousness. Colin educates us about how tea is related to the study of nature and what makes tea a way of life.
Colin believes that tea is a wonderful way to start your day because it brings calmness and focus. He takes us through his morning routine, including what types of tea he prefers to drink when preparing for the day. He also talks about different types of meditation.
There is definitely a place for scientific studies on tea, but Colin says that a scientific study devoid of connecting with the spirit of tea will lead to tea snobbery. However, if you begin your tea journey in a simple way that is about modesty, connection, and meditation, you won’t run that risk.

Peace, love and nature! Thank you for joining us.
Colin’s full bio:
Owner and founder Colin Hudon developed Living Tea through his lifelong immersion
in Tea and Tao. As an herbalist, acupuncturist, and practitioner of Traditional Chinese
Medicine, he discovered through the Tea ceremony a means of sharing the extraordinary
depth of these Oriental Traditions in the West. In Taoist herbalism, Tea is considered a
"shen" or spirit tonic through its ability to calm the mind, open the heart, remove energetic
stagnation and connect us with Nature. However, the western world has learned of Tea only
as a beverage grown from small bushes on plantations, rather than large, old-growth trees in
wild forests containing such powerful properties. With a strong wish to learn more about
formal Tea ceremony and the traditions from which the Teaceremony emerged, Colin
travelled to Asia in 2010 in "search of Tea." After many months of travel, he discovered
a living tradition in Taiwan. Following the cultivation and craft of Cha Tao, he sought to
offer Tea to others as a form of moving meditation and living art. Thousands
offer Tea to others as a form of moving meditation and living art. Thousands
of tea ceremonies later, Living Teacontinues to share this way, these old-growth trees and
this ancient tradition with you.
Qualities That Define a Living Tea:
Seed-Propagation
Room to Grow
Biodiversity
Chemical Free
No Irrigation
Healthy Relationships Between All Involved
Living Tea hosts tea ceremonies every week in Telluride, Colorado. Please refer to
the Valley Floor Tearoom page to reserve spots for the weekly
ceremonies. Living Tea is also available in Colorado for private ceremonies and
larger events. Further, we have friends (AYAM) hosting regular ceremonies,
workshops and classes in Los Angeles, where Living Tea found its roots in 2010.
We make trips to Taiwan and China throughout the year to source the best tea and
teaware we can find. We also work very closely with a dear friend and teamaster in
Taiwan who helps guide the evolving collective of our tradition. May we share a
steaming bowl together soon in this Life of Tea.

Transforming Obstacles With Kristin Ritter
Tuesday Oct 29, 2019
Tuesday Oct 29, 2019
Kristin Ritter is our guest in this episode. She is the author of Spiraling to Wellness and the Founder of Nourishing Storm Studio & Café in Pennsylvania. Kristin recently contributed to the Shanti Yoga Training School, providing a wonderful presentation.
The first topic we get into with Kristin is transforming obstacles. She is sure that everyone has an obstacle or two on their mind, but they are part of life. Fortunately, we have the ability to change them. Kristin recalls how she first got involved with yoga.
Kristin talks about some difficulties she had when opening her café and describes the moment when she realized she had to fight for it. During this process, she discovered that the details of this stressful time didn’t matter.
Nathalie says that we have to allow people to have their own soul evolution. This means there might be a point where you don’t want to be around somebody in your life that you still love. Kristin finishes with advice for those who are having trouble meditating.

Moving Through Stagnation ~ Tapas ~ The Fire Within
Tuesday Oct 22, 2019
Tuesday Oct 22, 2019
Today we invite you into our Shanti Yoga Training School, as we dive into one of the many concepts of yoga philosophy and how it affects our life. Nathalie teaches weekly zoom sessions to yoga students and teachers across the Globe, today you are our guest. Welcome to our training school.
Tapas is a big concept in yoga. Often translated as the “fire that burns within,” the discipline of tapas is one aspect that really resonates with Nathalie. She explains how the concept of tapas has assisted her through tough times.
The fact that we are alive, have a human body, have a consciousness, and have an awareness is quite a miracle. We should never take it for granted; it should always be treated as a gift. Nathalie says that when you see life in this way, you begin to be very grateful for everything that you are.
We all know somebody, or have been that person, who is never happy. They say they want something, they get it, but it’s not good enough. Nathalie reveals what to do if you’re in this mindset, including living in the present moment. Joy is a feeling that we can only have in the now.
Today Nathalie asks, what is it that’s holding you back? It’s time to rise above and move forward through the fire of your life. Sometimes our biggest failures are out biggest teachers, so surrender to the discomfort. You will come out as a better person.
