Today we have an amazing guest in Patrick Sanderson who is a filmmaker, actor, and model, who lives in Los Angeles.
Having also spent a significant amount of time living in LA, Nathalie talks about how fun it was; she and Patrick haven’t experienced the typical negativity sometimes tied to the city.
This episode explores tools for navigation changes, as well as remaining authentic throughout your journey no matter what.
We talk about his new short film Unintentional Community, the experience of going through film school and participating in film festivals around the country and London.

#38 Yoga Tradition with Melanie Fawer Going Back To Mysore
Sunday Sep 23, 2018
Sunday Sep 23, 2018
Today’s guest is Melanie Fawer, an ashtanga yoga teacher who is certified by Pattabhi Jois. We hear about how her first trip to India made her fall in love with yoga, in part due to the differences she saw in it there compared to the US. That first trip to India was in 1994, so we discuss the changes that Melanie has seen in yoga since then.
Melanie teaches Mysore style yoga. She shares with us why it is so special to her and what exactly makes it unique. She continues to be impressed at how genius the style is. Then, we learn about the usefulness of led classes and other inspirations that Melanie draws from. Because ashtanga classes are sometimes taught incorrectly, we hear about this causing some people to falsely dislike it. A proper class takes a lot of observation from the teacher.
Only internally can we truly know when the next level of evolution needs to happen, which causes Melanie to share how we can find our true potential. It’s important to have a support group, but Melanie feels like she hasn’t had that foundation until about five years ago. Related to this, she offers advice on what to do on the days that feel gloomy.
An important aspect of Mysore style is connecting with one teacher; going to different studios and teachers may lead to selling yourself short. Melanie discusses this and points out what to keep in mind when starting Mysore style yoga.

#24 - AWAKENING with Preston Smiles
Sunday Jan 21, 2018
Sunday Jan 21, 2018
For most of our lives, we’re taught that we need something outside of ourselves in order to feel whole and complete. But, the thing is, in this moment, all of our needs are met.
Preston Smiles joins Nathalie to talk about this, and more advice for living happily. Learn how to break down the walls to being yourself. Nobody should be holding you back. Discover the truth of your being.
Preston also challenges the idea that we all have to find just one “thing” to do for our entire lives, discusses the reasons why he thinks men should show emotion rather than repressing, and we learn about the primal benefits of doing activities like dancing, yoga, or even just screaming. They all help to dissipate negative energy, something that many of us don’t even realize needs to be done!
In a culture where we are taught and many times programed that men don't cry or are allowed to express deep feelings and emotions - Preston challenges us to a new belief system and new paradimes - not from a place of him telling us who or what to be, but from encouraging us to be exactly who we are today.
How do we do that? Tune in to this episode for many inspirational tools and live your most authentic life.
